From the founders of Breakdance Chicago, we present to you... Urban Art Chicago
Don't
worry if you have no art experience, it is a class for beginners. We
start you off at ground zero and build you up. The classes are for people of all ages and are full of people just like you looking to learn the art of spray can control and street art basics.
 What Is "Street Art"? From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_art
Street art is any art developed in public spaces — that is, "in the streets"
— though the term usually refers to art of an illicit nature, as
opposed to government sponsored initiatives. The term can include
traditional graffiti artwork, stencil graffiti, sticker art, wheatpasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerrilla art, flash mobbing, and street installations. Typically, the term Street Art or the more specific Post-Graffiti is used to distinguish contemporary public-space artwork from territorial graffiti, vandalism, and corporate art. In the class we will be learning the basic foundations of popular form of street art including but, not limited to graffiti art, stenciling, and whatever you want to create with tools of the trade . What To Wear
Just remember that this class will be hands on meaning that you will be doing actual painting and other various applications of painting. You don't have to wear a full on painting suit but just be aware that paint can be temperamental and sometimes splatter so wear comfortable clothes you wouldn't mind getting some paint on.
Materials
Materials will be provided for you in class but all students should bring some kind of sketch pad and a marker or felt tip pen to take notes and to draw ideas out. This isn't mandatory but recommended as these classes will be accelerated.
